first post test

Am I going to keep a blog of my time in Patagonia? I suppose I could have a go. Not that I want to spend too much time sorting out internet connections when travelling, but ach, it might be as good a way as any of passing some time whilst waiting for buses now and then I suppose.
Anyway, just in case there's anyone I know I haven't actually already bored to death on the subject of my approaching trip, here are the details (such as they are). Leaving on the 17th of February, returning on the 28th of March. Flying to Buenos Aires via Madrid. The plan is to go south as quickly as possible and then work my way back up from there. The logic behind this is to escape the heat in the north and to see the south before the days get too short and the colder autumn weather takes hold. Not that I'm going for the weather, obviously - I'm expecting Scottish summer type stuff (i.e. anything and everything between howling gales and scorching sunshine within any 24 hour period) but it would be good to try to move north with the retreating sun.
Further details of my itinerary are as yet... vague. I have to have a final re-reading of Chatwin's book to make a definitive list of the places I don't want to miss. I also feel the need to walk on a glacier before they all finally disappear, and to gallop across the pampas on horseback somewhere, preferably with a western saddle to complete the cowboy image.
